Screen wash smell

I let the BMW dealer fill up my screen wash so have no idea what make it is (probably BMW). When I use it with the roof down the smell of the washer fluid is horrrible - like a dark alley round the corner from a pub at midnight (I think you get the idea / smell)! :x

Is this normal with BMW wash and if so can anyone recommend a good wash that just smells sort of normal (soapy)
 
Never noticed any smell and i use BMW washer fluid normally washer fluids stink like washing up liquid but nothing from mine.
 
This was a problem for some when i had my tt i think its if you have been using screenwash A and the dealer adds screenwash B the mix creates a stinky chemical reaction . The tt boys just drained the bottle and filled with halfords etc hope this helps :thumbsup:
 
used to have this on the 300zx..

I fixed it by removing the washer bottle and washing out with a bit of diluted milton's sterilizer fluid - this got rid of mildew / limescale lumps in the bottom.
I then refitteed it, then filled it to the brim with hot, boiled, water and flushed the whole system out until no water was left.

then just refilled as normal and the smell went away :)
 
Actually, he threw-up in it - judging by the pong!

Drained washer botle and re-filled with Halfords best - a bit like Old Spice but better then sick [sic] :D

Problem solved and all for a fiver (with BOGOF £4). Z4s rule OK
