Screen wash fluid squirting

Was a nice day in London this afternoon so took the Zed for a spin with shades on and window down. Was at traffic lights and the van next to me decided to clean his windscreen and started squirting fluid in my direction (not sure whether he was trying to annoy me or not) so I pretty quickly put my window up and was safe. It then crossed my mind about how my Roadster brothers and sisters deal with this situation with the top down? If the vehicle next to you is higher and has a good aim in your direction, do you get it in the eye? Or a wet head?

it does seem to be a pattern that when people see a roof down behind them or next to them - they instinctively feel the need to clean their windscreen - makes me laugh, i do get wet sometimes - i never let them see they hit me

Those bad arse "Men in a White Van" that I hear so much about on here !
My guess is that they saw how hot you are and were just trying to get to know you.
Much better method than their typical "Side swipe her fender or the rear bumper nudge.

Give the alternatives I'd say you got off lightly compared to the options available "Men in White Vans" have at their disposal.
I'd consider it a compliment ..

Pretty much end up getting wet

I actually think most people use their washers when either stationary or when facing sunlight (as they notice all the dirt on the windshield)

Why thank you. I much prefer the White van men who smile and wave at me instead, particularly when theres a few in one van, always makes sitting in motorway traffic rather fun and makes me giggle :)

We are in the minority as roadster owners then - I can only use mine in motion when the roof is down otherwise I get myself damp :D

I can use mine stationary (windows up) no leakage into the cabin, as long as I don't do a massive squirt.

Rubes, the idiots who squirt when you are behind them make me laugh, they have no idea of how aerodynamics work! Straight over the car in the wind.

(Edit, I'm just waiting for the smut to start. :D )

I'd hate to see the results of a massive squirt :o

Headlight washers get me every time - always forget when the roof is down and the lights are on :slaphead:

:D

When I was about 20 (young and invincible) some twat did this to me when I was on the bike. How he laughed until the next set of traffic lights. I pulled up alongside him Gesturing to wind the window down. He didn't :o
White knuckles gripping the steering wheel, staring straight ahead. Swallowing hard.
Popped his Driver's side wiper up and waited. He set off, and I followed until he was obviously shitting himself so much he pulled in to a police station.
Either that or he was a copper. (thought of this a couple of days later, then shat myself for a week, imagining all sorts of truncheon based injuries)

Ruby ... Rule no1 ... The most important rule ... Don't drive close behind a horse/cow/sheep trailer/lorry :) lol

Never used to have a screen in the westy just an aero lip... You learn fast to avoid all sorts ! :)

Tbh all roadster divers are hunks so it just looks like this.....

I get it a lot, but as posters have said it's more fun just to ignore them and pretend you didn't notice. Then go past them whilst using your washer jets! Makes me smile anyway.....
