Scratches on Clear Coat

What can I do to smooth out deep scratches on clear coat? I dropped my mini maglite on the front wing yesterday, and left a scratch. It is not deep enough to reach the basecoat, but is deep enough to be felt by finger. I tried zymol cleaner wax, but it could only fill minor scratches and swirl marks. Will AG SRP help? It is quite visible.

I think they say on Detailingworld that if you can feel a scratch with your fingernail, then it really needs paint added...? Don't think a polish will smooth it down and cover it. :?

Time, patience and the right products can feather the scratch and round the edges so its far, far less prominant.
It would entail some light wet sanding and some machine work.
Zymol cleaner wax is on the same bandwidth as AG srp, neither fill well, they both clean ok and both get very dusty if over applied.

you wont get anywhere with polish. try a cutting compound like farecla G6. Much more effective. Once carefully cut with that use a polish to bring it back up and then finally a wax.

I read an article in Auto Express about Mercedes's new ceramic clear coat, and also many BMW owners complained about BMW paintwork is so easy to get srcatched and damaged by bird droppings and tree sap.

A number of manufacturers have started using these new scratch resistant clear coats and self healing paints yet are more easier to damage by the seems of things and even more a pita to rectify.
