scratches from drying with towels

been using towels to dry the m after 2 bucket washing, but have noticed quite a few swirls and scratches appearing so need to give it the once over with a mop, the lacquer is so damn hard to get mrks out of it makes you wonder how it scratches so easily in the first place. went and bought a really large soft natural chamois leather at the weekend so will see if that is a better method of drying the bodywork. what do others use or recomend on here. thanks :?

i use a microfibre towels but its almost impossible to avoid the odd mark. a coat of wax covers it up though. dont get me started on bmw paint!!! even my das-6 pro with G3 compound struggles to remove scratches :x

Micro fibre towels. Pat it, don't rub them over the car. Wash the towel before use also...

ps - is this an ///M specific problem??? :P

I dont microfibre very effective in absorbing water.

I got a massive cosco drying towel, pat the car dry, its very effective... Especially on the roof.

Or even better use a garden vac on blower mode, dries it in no time.... But you do get some strange looks!

Rinse with filtered water before drying - then use dring towels (from Raze Glaze) wash clothes in filtered water before and during use.

Agree with above - I use a large microfibre drying towel laid over the body work, then a small (clean) one to dry properly. Always wash them afterwards too, even if they are not actually visibly dirty.

i just fold the edges in, helps alot, its the threaded edges that scratch most

I use this

A couple of passed gets rid of all water. Deep pile and bonded sides minimises scratch potential too
