Scraped Paint, mysterious code.

IMG_2132.jpegI need some help!

I noticed some scrapes at the bottom of the bumper.

I know this should not bother me, but it does.

In my defence, you can see them from a standing up position at a couple of metres from the car.

Does anyone know the bmw paint code of the m-sport lower bumper?

I can hopefully get a touch up stick and fill, paint and cut back.

Any help is always appreciated!

After hours of searching on many forums, I have found the answer.

Lots of myths about it not being painted; about BMW garages not knowing the code, and that no one knows.

Some other myths about BMW space grey metallic being "good enough".

The answer: BMW B27 Dark Shadow Metallic

I have touched in all the scratches, match is pretty spot on.

I now need to polish out the lumps. 'Tis for 'tother day

I used 'Sophistico Grey' in a rattle can for mine (from Halfrauds). I too struggled to find the BMW colour, but found the grey referenced somewhere on the net.

I had a dent in the centre of the plastic on mine (looked like it was caused by someone reversing into a tow hook). I took the piece off the car, heated the plastic and pushed the dent out as much as possible whilst warm. When it was cold, I filled it with some plastic filler and sanded it back to flush.
A coat of plastic primer, and the sophistico grey (no lacquer) sorted it. I won't say which E89 it was, as both are now owned by forum members! :D
