Scraped my 'kin alloy

After a year of parking extremely far away from the kerb, I inadvertently went too close last night and scraped one of the front CSL's goddam it.

Anyone know of any good repairers in Yorkshire?

Both me and my brother have used Chips Away for alloy refurbs (me an MG, my brother a Boxster S) and the results we got were amazing - I would highly recommend them - took a few hours at our houses but the time and care they took was amazing - good prices too - they work on the diameter of the kurbing but mine was pretty fooked and it was only about £50 to fix!

Got a chips away guy coming this afternoon - said its usually around £50 so I'm happy with that.

Just got to decide whether to have it done now, or wait the obligatory few months till I scrape all 4 (which WILL happen no doubt).

But will certainly use these guys whenever I have it done.

Fella just been to quote.

£50+VAT for one of the wheels with 2 small chips out of them. £60+VAT for the wheel which I scraped last night.

Not bad, and might try for the VAT knocking off.

Will definitely use at some stage

Make sure you paint the scratch with something in the mean time! Wouldn't want that nice road salt getting at the bare alloy!!

I feel your pain! My problem is not so much about protecting the rims. I have a problem smacking into curbs head on and damaging the front spoiler. Understand that my everyday commuter car is a Honda Fit Sport (Jazz in Europe) and the front hood is so short. And with the Z4's front hood so long, it's often difficult for me to judge the distance from the curb!

I parked in a retail park last week, and when I came back I saw the front of the car perilously peer over the top of a kerb.

From a distance I thought oh crap I've caught it.

When I checked there was about a 2mm gap to the floor. Boy was I relieved!!
