Scraped 296 Alloy...

Maniac

OK so I christened the car this morning by leaving sainsburys half asleep and curbing a front alloy. Not massive, about 1.5 inch x 3mm black mark. Whats the best way to address this (other than just accept it), is there anything I can use to soften/clean the scrape and ultimately protect it from corrosion?

Cheers guys,

I've washed the wheel and looked closer now, and with a little soft scrubbing from a dishwasher sponge its all nice and clean with just a little scraping. I noted another smaller scrape, presumably courtesy of the previous owner, so I've cleaned that one too. This one shows slight spidering so I'm guessing the polished face is coated somehow. I'll have to get some very fine glass paper and take off the rough before attempting laquer over the top.

I kerbed mine slightly last year leaving a carpark. Just got the dealer to do a smart repair. £60 and you can't see it at all now! Good job
