Scottish No.1 Wins Wimbledon again!

That racism across the UK...

Shocking wasn't it. Working with people of all colours and creeds I was absolutely appalled at it.

Rise of 42% in England and Wales since the EU vote. 289 incidents on 25 June alone the day after the result.

0% increase in Scotland as per Police Scotland. Those bloody Scottish people at it again with their non racist attacks! Someone did steal the Cash Machine from T In The Park over the weekend although that's not racism is it!

Then again the racism in England and Wales (Rise of 42% in England and Wales since the EU vote) was all stoked up by the BBC, Sky, ITV and the right wing media but see the other EU threads to explain it. Bloody immigrants etc. See Farage for more info on being out of Europe it's the immigrants stupid!!!

Think I'll have to have a sit down to take in those statistics.

Congratulations Andy on winning today, makes a change as Scotland don't seem to win very often.
While I've no doubt he is a proud Scot,he can't be to keen on living there as he lives in Surrey.I wonder why?
And where did he learn his tennis? [At a Spanish Tennis Academy, in case you didn't know!]

However,
I will say that he seems a very nice person, unlike some of his bigoted countrymen.

Skelters I'am embarrassed for you  very anti engerland ! I'am also Scottish but British too !
Sounds like you are a SNP Bigot, one Jimmy Krankie supporters ! Thought you where having a laugh to start with, but doesn't look like it now :( out of Order imo :headbang: Rule Britannia

When Nicola met Jean-Claude:

Jean- Hello Nicola how can I help you?
Nicola- I want you to let us into the EU.
Jean- You are already in the EU and your country just vote to leave??
Nicola- Ah yes, but Scotland didn't and therefore it was undemocratic.
Jean- But your country (the UK) has?
Nicola- Ah, but we are Scotland and that's what's important now and ultimately democratic.
Jean- What? more democratic than the national referendum 2 years ago that decided to stay within the UK?
Nicola- Uh, yes.
Jean- I see so when are you going to have another referendum?
Nicola- Uh, not sure.
Jean- So what can i do for you?
Nicola- Well, what I want is a guarantee that as a new country the EU will do what it has refused to do to any another country requesting entry into the EU.
Jean- What's that?
Nicola- Well Jean, we want immediate no strings attached entry into the EU as a new country.
Jean- But you are not a new country
Nicola- I KNOW but when we are?
Jean- I see. You do know that if you become a new member that you will also belong to the single currency?
Nicola- Uh, Jean we don't want the Euro, we will keep the pound thanks.
Jean- WHAT! So let me get this clear. Your current country/union has voted democratically to leave the EU, but you want your country to remain with us although your country also wants to remain in the UK. Also, despite wanting to leave the UK and join the EU you want to keep the pound?
Nicola- Uh, yes.
Jean- Is the rest of the UK alright with that?
Nicola- Uh, I haven't asked them yet.
Jean- OK get back to me on that one!! Sorry I need to go, the Spanish and French governments want urgently to speak to me about something.

No hint of Little Englander and their Empire in ruins bitterness. Well done.

Not only some fantastic points but England also has those top commentators like Andrew Castle who got to the 2nd Round at Wimbledon in 1986 and 1987 and Sue Barker who got to the Wimbledon Semi Final in 1977. Their expertise shines through.

Quite an achievement for such a great sporting country. You'd think they would win it every year with such experts! Same with probably the most expensive Olympics ever hosted with borrowed money, World Cup that was fixed when Germany lost it or Grand Prix that's actually paid for by big businesses that are quite probably not English.

Quite an achievement indeed the entire empire of ruins should be proud. Perhaps Rush out and buy a union jack suit (Made in China) and wave a flag (also Made in China) with a picture of your english queen of German descent. Bloody immigrants eh!

Neither Castle or Barker ever won it once unlike Andy Murray from Scotland who has now won it twice.

Again, well done Andy Murray who is still Scottish and won the oldest Tennis competition at Wimbledon again in front of the Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon who is also Scottish.

Saor Alba!

Anyway off to see if England managed to miss Portugal in the Euro 2016 competition. I really hope they did as they don't want to be playing a big team too soon.

Little man syndrome. Complete w@nker

skelters - I stated that "given the overt racism that appears on the rise across the whole UK, bad taste." Unlike you, I don't start quoting stats to support a case one way or the other, as stats can be twisted to support any case you want to push. However, I digress - my point is that using nationalist agendas to attack another nation populace isn't really in the theme of this forum. It's bad form, and I would ask that you stop.

Oh, and as a "bloody immigrant" living in England, I also object to anyone trying to use that form of address to push their own nationalist agenda.

As for Andy Murray - has he ever played for Scotland? Currently he plays for GB in the Davis Cup, GB for the Olympics, is classed as GB when playing in any of the Grand Slam tournaments... in this article he states "If Scotland became independent, then I imagine I would be playing for Scotland" - which is a pretty "no s**t sherlock" moment given he is Scottish, but he also states that if Independence did happen then " it would be pretty much the first time in my life that I would have ever (had the chance to play for Scotland)" - so the thread should read "Scotland's British No 1 Wins Wimbledon Again". (or similar)

So, he's Scottish, plays for GB. Unlike a fair few of the Scotland Rugby Union team...

Correct and even as a youngster he spent most of his life in Spain to train on the clay courts. He also lives in Surrey and didn't have a vote in the referendum in 2014 and I highly doubt if there was to be another he would have a say either. Last time I checked he owned a hotel up here but no actually residences here that will entitle him to vote as not registered to do so.

He counts himself a British, like most sane people.

But he does hate the English football team - So there's a mini-skelter in there somewhere

Jasey - that was a jokey comment picked up by the Daily Mail and escalated. He's not anti-English, just has a very dry sense of humour.
