Scottish Meet Season Kick Off - 30th March

weather looks dry at least - I'll probably head off around 3 pm back to base - I need to be in front of a TV for 4 PM. Metal Licker will understand the reasons for this :poke: .
Oh Yes ! Going to record it , so no radio or talking to anybody from 3pm onwards :D

No need, I concede defeat - my Zed needs some work and I won't be able to get it done - still miserable and wet in Newcastle. . . :(

I'll take some 'No Rinse Wash and Shine' in a spray and plenty of microcloths to do what I can on Sat/Sun . . . :headbang:

Don't worry, mine is in a state too, as the dust has settled on it in the car park and it now looks matt black. I am struggling for time to wash it, unless I do it tonight. But as I'm not long in from work after a LONG week :headbang: , I've not got the energy to spend an hour washing the car.

Instead, I might have a chance to wash in the evening tomorrow. Might :driving:

Had a disaster, whilst putting the OEM boxes back on with the bypass pipes realised the inside of the rear driver side tyres is through to the thread!!! Now it's far too late in the day to find a new one :( gutted, was looking forward to this too :headbang: :headbang:

Oh No - I had a similar issue early last season when i came to the car friday evening before a meet and found a full flat - frantic ringing around found some Pilot Sport Twos at the last moment.

See you next time

Gutted for you Dean :(

Also gutted that there will be more roadsters than coupes at the meet

Next time? Yeah? :)

Enjoyed a great run today - with a cracking pace (where appropriate) set by adamski & zermattv - big thanks for organising & apologies from all of us who omitted to bring copy route details. Great brunch stop too -allowing me to catch up with my wee sis.

Sorry we missed you lot at braemar -we popped into the village & you had gone !
Run up to & down from glenshee was fab as ever despite some poor quality roads at the bottom.

Great to see some new faces today - enjoyed the chat over brunch.

Will get some pics loaded later - didn't take many today - was a tad grey but stayed dry.

Will try and get some photos up later

Had a great day, great to put faces to the names! You guys put the GTR guys to shame when it comes to setting the pace! My first real blast in my 2.0, very capable. Sorry about the lack of sunshine guys, I did book it but I think I must have had the map upside down at the time! Thanks Adam and Zermatt, here's to the next one. Hers a mod for you, I'm gonna remove the bulb on that stupid yellow light that keeps flashing at me on the dash whenever I speed round a corner......it's too distracting!

Finally back in Edinburgh, after an epic drive back to my parents on dry roads that I know really well (more on that later).

Thanks everyone for coming along today - a great opening run of the season. Hopefully next run we'll get better weather.

I really enjoyed the A93 today, shame about the fog going up the Cairn O'Mount road though.

Barely took 10 pictures today, and most didnt come out too well, so I won't post them.

Look forward to seeing the pics from the rest of you

Great day out today - great to see some new faces along for the run and fantastic to meet up with everyone after the winter - here are my highlights

1. The Batmobile - Adam's new Coupe looking very mean in the misty conditions
2. That fantastic Red 911 1980s turbo outside Fennel
3. The Great Colour of Paul and Steph's new Roadster
4. Taking the Z4 Crew down some of my local roads
5. For Metal Licker - Getting in to see the first Goal go In - as the Shirt's said "seeing is believing "

Had a great day thanks Adamski and ZermattV. Lovely to meet up with everyone again and get to know some new faces

Back home in Newcastle - 592 miles and 28 mpg average. Will post some (poorish) photos tomorrow - tired but very chilled!

Thought we had some good roads in Northumberland but the ones today were brilliant and well worth the effort in travelling to take part - sensational!

:driving:

good hoon good food good chat. Great to see everyone again and new faces as well. Just remember when we meet again I will have forgotten your name.
Some good blasts along the highways, thank goodness I was without limiter.
Even better on way home a charge between dalmally & inveraray didn`t meet a thing meant unspoilt cornering, and more to the point still in one peace.
Well done the organisers.
Whats next????
John
