Scottish Forum Hoons -or lack thereof ! Summer 2014

Ok Adam, if you want to arrange a Skye meet for the last weekend in August with myself and anyone else who wants to help, since you guys did it already a couple of years ago, it would be easy enough to organise along the same lines, in order to keep it simple as possible, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes regards Skye...but so gutted I missed it last time, as I have been to Skye a lot years ago, and it has some great roads.
How does that sound??
 
I've never been to Skye :o

Not sure I can be of any assistance, but if you need help just holler. I could arrange to bring some jellied eels or something else disgustingly English though...
 
Been to Applecross, up north of Inverness, also Mallaig / Arisaig... Got dragged around by my grandparents in a caravan as a kid. Don't remember ever going to Skye, guess it's possible... Be a lot more fun now anyway :driving: 8)

Similar to Rob for me, start my new job tomorrow :o so will need to see how that pans out, commuting in the zed to Leith! I should be able to make the 22nd and happy to pitch in and help with a multi-day run to the North-West later in the summer :).
 
Glad we've generated a bit more interest.

I appreciate I suggested the 22 June but unfortunately another commitment has arose so we now can't make that date. Later June / early July is fine for me - but please don't let that stop anyone organising a hoon for 22nd June (Jonnymito) !

Perth start is fine though last one also started in Perth so might be worth checking any route for duplication.

Although I'd love another Skye trip I'm also afraid I cannot make late August as we head off with the Zed to Germany / Monza F1 & Swiss alps on 2 Sep so a major forum run a few days before is just a bit too much. Again - if there's appetite for a Skye run then I do hope it goes ahead - just watch out for the fierce midges there - investing in non fashionable mozzie nets is wise.

Previous trips used the Sligachan campsite and hotel - http://www.sligachan.co.uk/sligachan-campsite.php
which were fine - though there is nothing else around there. The hotel was good for beer and bar food though first time we stayed in a tiny overpriced room (captive market and all). Camping was more fun - but more midges.
 
So to recap, is the 22 June still on and do we know how many cars are attending?
 
I'm in Majorca in the sun so wouldn't be able to make anything around end of June.

I might be free then, however looking through the thread there doesn't look like many will be attending though which is a shame

I see, I am still waiting to do my first forum hoon :oops:
 
Looks like a lack of people able to attend any meets in JUNE/END AUGUST, regulars wise anyway, that's a pity.
Hopefully we can get a few meets for some-point in the year before winters back around :driving:
 
Only just seen the thread as I have been absent from the forum for the last month due to work and domestic issues.

I can't believe that we have no meet dates pencilled in, this has to be a first :cry:

I would be more than willing to try and organise a meet, but it is looking more likely to be later on in the year for me though.

I might be able to assist someone else in helping to organise an earlier meet, I just can't commit fully as I would normally like to do though, sorry.
 
Well done Swiftly - what do you mean my "later this year" ?

I would love another forum run to happen over the summer though that might clash with the National and the Commonwealth games and some football somewhere... so please shout out if anyone's up for a hoon anytime over June/ July / August -even if it's a last minute hastily arranged version some of us might be able to hoon at a moment's notice !

Any more takers ?
