Scottish Autumn Run - 13th October Confirmed

I'm just back home after a detour and coffee stop at Meigle.

Great day.... it's days like these that make zed ownership such a pleasure.

AndrewP - :( gutted that you got a puncture, the AA van was just coming off the A90 as we joined it. Hope you weren't waiting too long.

I dont have any pictures as good as Malc's first one, but am looking forward to seeing more pics from the guys with proper cameras

Thanks to Jax for organising

A big thanks to jaxZ4 and Adamski for organising another great meet and drive! They also managed to organise some cracking weather as well

Gutted for AndrewP and his puncture, although it could have easily happened to anyone of us really, I hope he eventually made it home ok.

A couple of pictures taken at our coffee stop at Loch Venachar and the stunning scenery.

Wow, stunning weather guys :o 8)

I nearly drowned in the standing water on the rugby pitch this morning, very jealous.

Just had a coffee and might crack open a beer later. . .

505 miles 31.3mpg average (!) tired but very relaxed and had a great days run only hampered by the unfortunate iron edge of the gas board cover (we think) which sliced through Andrew's front nearside tyre. Interesting to see how the goo worked when pumped in (then out) but not very helpful! We were at the furthest point of the run with no mobile signals and not too many residences to call on for a land-line. must say I was impressed with the cool approach to sorting out what was a day ending incident - such a shame and I hope you both got home (eventually) safe and that you get the Zed back on the road soon.

Thanks to Jack (JaxZ4) Adamski and Malcolm for organising and running the day - when we were clear of holdups (including that poorly loaded lorry - very nervous for the Zeds travelling behind that swaying disaster in the making) the roads were terrific and offered a great challenge and enjoyment let alone the stunning views in some of the valleys. Loved the stages of the Duke Pass when we got a clear run towards the end and the later valleys - but it was all brilliant so a big thank you from me and Steph. Hope our picture of us all stuck behind the tractor comes out. . .
The first stop was a fantastic place - what a location and view and the lunch stop was a good call. Shame it had to end in such a way but it's all a learning curve and it shows how vulnerable those of us with non run-flats can be when faced with such an incident.

Nice to have some time to chat to other forum members with plenty of stops. Thanks John for the insights on the new Zed (I might get back to you about this in the future) Nic please send me that link re tyres it might be my best way forward and Andrew (when you get sorted) please let me know the link for your headlights. Adamski - loved your car and that interior.
A lovely relaxed day yet with the usual high levels of driving discipline and approach to a run - always impresses me when I'm out with the Forum. Sorry not to have caught up with Toeside but Jax told me what had happened - all the best to your other half and we hope to see you at another run in the future.

Thanks all and I'll sort out some photos and get them posted soon.

Paul and Steph :driving:

Gutted............
Weather looks like it was fantastic. Cars looking great too
Pleased you all had a great time.

Well, been back for a while now, bit of a palaver getting here but made it - Z is too low for the towing rig on a normal AA van (especially with a flat tyre, and needed ramps to reduce the angle even on the flatbed!) to so we had to wait for a flatbed truck which was going to take too long, so they got a local firm out and then we swapped to an AA truck at Kinross and got back about 10pm :o. I'll get a mobile fitter or the wheel off and a new tyre on during the week. I think the Applecross recovery is still more epic though!

Good photos and thanks all .

Pleased that you guys had great day while the rest of us suffered a monsoon. great pics so far :)

Jealous!!! I hope i'll manage to bring my ride from Greece sometime after April so that i can join you on the next trip. I am sure you had a blast!

great ride out, was most surprised with the five lochs, last ime I did them was on a ride out with the harley bikes who with road marshalls take their time. What a mistake it was a blast on sunday.
Great roads and company.
following some photos.
For you paul it was good to meet up and for your information on sunday I clocked up 336 miles with an average 29.7 mpg.
