Why shouldn't Scotland keep the pound?

I know this is only banter, and I am NOT having a go at you two.

It is exactly these kind of comments that we hear alot from south of the border that will reinforce the ill educated mind to vote YES. and also shows the Ignorance of those saying them about how this Union works.
And Shambolic, Get off the fence and tell us what you really think![]()

Those MPS represent districts in Scotland, so if they went alone, those MPs would automatically disappear anyway.
Woots said:English ppl work in wales, welsh ppl work in scotland, socttish ppl work in england, we all pay tax regardless of where we work, it all goes to pay for those who dont/cant work (booo) and whatever is left we use to frighten the argentine parliament (yaaay)![]()
We will see
But don't get me started on the Malvinas. That is a total waste of British taxes.Nosa said:pvr said:Going back to Scottish MPs in Westminster, that would not happen though.

Exactly.
At the moment we are still part of the union and therefore have scottish ministers in parliament. If the England decided that we could not have MP's in parliament then that would be taxation with out representation. Remember what happened last time you tried that.

The more i read up on this the more barmy it seems.Initially i couldn't see how our island could function as different states but it's no different to the borders of any of the European countries.Still think it would be a great shame though.

If Scotland went on its own, then they wouldn't pay taxes to England, so it wouldn't be a problem. Am I missing the point?
original guvnor said:Tony Blair is to blame for all of this. Devolution opened a can of worms which it will be difficult to put a lid back on now. He should've told the Scots and Welsh to feck off when they were pushing for it.
I have selfish reasons for wanting Scotland to vote yes. I'm not sure if this is still true but there used to be a statistic that there would never have been a Labour government if it wasn't for the Scots and Welsh. If ever there was a reason to encourage independence that is it!!
