Anyway, dates for a 2-nighter trip "up north": bank hol weekend at the start of May, Fri 4th - Sun 6th May. How does that sound provisionally? :!:

Was thinking of going to the Donnington Classic that week-end, but this would take precedence  gives us English an extra day to wander back down south too :)

Were you thinking of 3 day event (like Islay?) - if so I might need Thurs PM off too (unless I can visit some more scottish depots ;))

Provisionally it may not be ok I've been told. I forgot we're going to Paris from the 5th to 10th May. Don't let that stop you organising it for that weekend though if it works for the majority.

Just seen this thread - won't work for the two of us as I'm in Dublin that weekend with work. Already had to swap off of night shift that weekend to make it there.

Still working on ideas for dates but have the route pretty much worked out (in my head at least)...

Bank holiday weekend will mean the roads will be full of shed draggers! :headbang: I mean caravans!
It's one of the reasons I'm thinking it might be best avoiding that weekend...

'Effin caravans - even though I own a campervan I still feel entitled to hate caravans!

Especially May bank holiday - the start of the caravan season.... :(

I'm afraid that May weekend doesn't work for us either - we'll be in Berlin - later inn May would be OK though - hope we can get some dates that suit many.

Can you give us a taster of the route Ally?! Most dates in May/June will suit me, so happy to go with the majority. Do you think I'll need a passport by then?! :D

Don't worry - it certainly won't be the early-May bank hol weekend now. Too many folk can't make it. Reassessing later!

Still a bit up in the air due to current road closure near Applecross due to a major landslide in December (posted earlier in this thread). The diversion is still a cracking road but I'll share the route via PM once it's finalised. I'm trying to avoid repeating roads previously used on forum runs but it's quite difficult when there's few roads to choose from in places. But basic plan is drive up Friday, an out-and-back drive on the Saturday for those that want it, then drive back down on the Sunday :driving:
