I looked at them but came to the conclusion it's not that much cheaper than the scissor lift so might as well go the whole hog! Man maths for you :?

That looks ideal! I've got the same height restriction to I'll be going for a metre too! I can't seem to find one for much less than 2k at the minute though which is slightly annoying!

These have bars that cross under the car, making access harder. I used one once. Was impossible to work on exhaust, gearbox etc.

Good point!

This is the kind of thing I have, it has compressed air safety locks which mine doesn’t, which would be ideal but I didn’t have a compressor at the time I bought mine.
(I always put a set of axle stands under the scissor section of the lift which would prevent it lowering in the event of a catastrophic fail).

There are a few suppliers, mostly of Chinese origin (what isn’t these days!!), but Automec and others sell alternates.

Looks good, is the length of the 'treads' short enough to clear the E89 wheels and arches? I assume so..?

On mine, the treads ends (last12 inches or so), flop down, so you can easily access wheels and other stuff readily.

They work with the tvr tamora which has a short wheelbase of 93 inches

You can also lock them horizontally and lift the car with them if you have a longer car, I’ve used that for the trucks I’ve had. Most useful!

And hockey pucks make great jack pads on these. Small, almost solid and take up little height.

The tam has chassis bolts that protrude, and I just lift on those on the hockey pads. Looks like it’s sat on the body, but it’s on the chassis

Yep. Fits easy.

The tam is pretty low and fits over .. close but ok.

The 40mm thick blocks of wood I leave under the ramp slopes just so I can slip the hockey pucks under the chassis easily, (without the blocks I have to lift the front arches 5 mm shove them under a bit blind), and because I don’t really like slipping the clutch when the car’s stone cold on the tam every time I use it just to reverse over the ramps to exit the garage. The clutch is a bit of a “switch” when cold and you’re holding revs to keep the engine on idle for the first minute or two.

The z is less fussy and no issues.

I'll put in on my christmas shopping list..just need the garage to be finished first! :headbang:
