Schumacher F1 Return

Michael Schumacher signed a 3-year contract with Mercedes today. It will be interesting to see him racing against other young champions 2010. :)

You wonder what he has to gain - only really a reputation to loose. That said I really hope Ross Brawn can give him a good car because it'll be fascinating to see him against Alonso & Massa, Lewis & Jenson, & Vettel if Newey creates another great Red Bull. Could be a good season next year.

I read this this morning.

Not sure if this is a good or bad move really. Yes Brawn are the Constructors Champions but I just cant see the car being competitive next year (even with Merc backing). Their success was all down to fortune at the beginning of the year (ie the excellent but contentious diffuser).

The problem is, Schumacher is a winner and will get very frustrated if not at the front of the pack.

Add to this his age and the lack of competitive racing and I fear that he will push too hard with potential devastating consequences.

I think it will be business as usual next year with a Hamilton/Button 1-2.

lewis and button cant hold a candle to schumachers talent, only thing that annoys me about him is that he crashed into hill as it was so uneccessary

I agree with that. Was fortunate enough to meet him in his Benneton days and been a fan ever since.

If he does race it will make a much better season so much better and the Button Hamilton duo need to be very worried.

Don't forget he barged into Jaques Villeneuve in the last race of the year just as he was being passed. He had all his points docked for the entire season for that.JV won the championship anyway. He's a badly spoilt brat, and a terrible sport. He's also an amazing driver and is properly quick. Can't wait for the new season to start. 4 world champs, all in good cars scrapping it out, with Vettel desparate to be the next.
