Sceneic Hertfordshire roads

Apologies if this isn't the right place for this post. Those of you from Hertfordshire who go on road trips or drives often, have you found any nice roads around here? Or even anywhere that the car could be photographed with an interesting background?
 
I live in the west corner of Herts near the Bucks border, but there are some really nice roads in the Ashridge forest near Ringshall and Dagnall, not far from Whipsnade Zoo. The whole Chiltern's area is lovely and has some great roads up in the hills, they can become very busy on a nice sunny weekend though, plenty of cyclists 2 or 3 abreast :headbang: I'm still learning the area really as I've only been up here for about 2 years.
If you're up for a nice drive you could check out the Oxfordshire members thread, Machine Monkey organises nice drives through the Cotswolds, a few of us meet up in west Herts/east Bucks and drive up to Eynsham.
 
Also near Whipsnade, the view over Dunstable Downs can be pretty gd. Hatfield house, Knebworth, Mentmore... might be good for a cheeky pic or two.

Dunstable Downs I went to recently, although looks like the car park overlooking has been closed off now? Would certainly be up for the Oxfordshire meet - will keep a look out on the post.

Come to think about it, it might be in Bedfordshire! Either way... "good runoff areas". :driving:

Oh really? Wasn't a bad place to stop, mid-drive, and chill out for a bit.
 
I do like that road MrPT, on the border I think. Let me know when you're up here on a weekend and we could meet up, as I'm not far away.
Coming to zed fest? About 5 or 6 of us convoy from near Thame on the Saturday.

No mate, sorry. Thought I could come but it clashes with a family trip to Malaysia. Gutted!
