Haha , if i had that much to spend it would be another coupe .
1 of the reasons for selling the Zc was finding if hard to justify having £9k tied up in a car that covered around 1500 miles a year + needing some of the cash in order for our french project to have electric connected , , , 4000 euros was a kick in the ball's i can tell you
No i,m afraid my budget would be a more modest £5k & have had my eye on one ticking all my boxes

There is no substitute for the wind in your hair! I craved for a soft top for the last 20 years, the kids have moved out and we are free! I clean it and shine it and spend hours looking at what to clean next. I love it. you need one.

Well it's about feckin' time - I knew all that 'woo woo coupes are ace' stuff was a cover :P

Hope you find the right one, and fast - before the weather changes :driving:

x2, I can understand the "wind in your hair" perspective.....but looking better?? I know it's subjective but it's like saying Barbara Streisand makes better eye candy than Kelly Brook.

You're right, it's subjective... So you shouldn't then go on to introduce such a ridiculous comparison, thus making it objective.

IMO there's nothing beats the roadster for looks with the roof down. With the roof up it has it's good sides and not so good sides. But I love it. The coupe looks good but to my eye not as good, and it has a roof so it's not for me.

Subjective... But roof down looks loads better from every angle... Roof up from behind the coupe looks better.

You need an M roadster in your life Andy..

Buy wisely, and sell mid summer next year... In between times scare yourself to death!

Well if I had got rid of my coupe and then had a smaller budget, then I wouldn't think twice about getting the rag top, it's the drive and sound of those six pots that does it for me :D so do it

My comparison was for emphasis and also in jest (next time I'll be sure to include a smiley ) .

You're right though, roof down the roadster is a beautiful car. But the coupé is always a beautiful car :driving:

...just a shame about the E89... :exitright:

I'm slowly coming round to the E89, probably due to seeing a few more in the flesh at Z meets

The front of the E89 has much more presence than the original Z4, the E85/E86 looking very plain and dated head-on

Its just a shame they didn't spend a bit more money on its rear

Me too :D

I am with Ranski, front end of the e89 is lovely. The rear end is not so great, but I think that is a function of having weird shape and shut lines due to having to contain the folding hard top. That said, looks fantastic with the quad exhaust in the shot above

Perhaps the front end of the e85/86 is a little dated in standard guise, but I think it still looks good compared to, say, a 1st gen TT. And the ///M front end doesn't look dated to my eye at all.

I am actually in love with that black e89 above - that front splitter is not standard, but it looks ace. Got a bit of Alpina about it

x2, almost making its way to looking like a batmobile! Mean!

Yeah, the wheels rock too - nothing fancy or delicate about them, very purposeful... And for once the black on black looks really good.

Anyway, back to mr wilks - hurry up and buy one mate :D
