SBSR problem

I have searched but can not find an actual solution.

Has anyone managed to replace this themselves?

I never had a problem when i first picked up the car drove it for a week, after unhooking the battery to help a friend diagnose a starter problem with his car.

When i re-hooked the battery it has the airbag light on :headbang: Could this have just surged and blown a fuse or am i being to optimistic?

I bought some software and a cable and diagnosed on DISv57 that the problem is the SBSR. A quick delete will turn it off for 5 seconds then back on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Do a 'Quick Delete' and then a further 'Quick Test'

Look for 'X' in the module list then, if you see any click on the Green Right arrow bottom right hand corner and you will see a list of error codes. Then re-post with that screen shot and I've no doubt that you will get ideas on here

It comes straight back up, i have been advised it could be the sbk by an indy today.

The Positive on the battery. Told to double check that, if not it will be in the garage tomorrow.

Will update when i know more.

DIS should allow you to delve into the airbag system and run a 'test program' that should tell you what the error is?

i have replaced the SBSL which is the same module but on the passenger side. you need to use the SSS v32 retro fit section as the new units superseded the old one. It is likely damaged from water ingress via roof drain holes blocked. check under carpet for damp. The unit is located back corner on cill behind seat. best to remove seat and pull back the carpet as there is a join under the seat.

Thanks for the replys, however i have just been very lucky, it was a damaged wite behind the seat.

The indy that i used was Bolton Motor Works. That my brother in law used to use. Charged me £40 to locate and fix the issue. Now a clear dashboard :)

Now to treat the scratch down the skirt, the curbed back wheel and the shoddy kidney grills.
