Saw this on Facebook (most reliable zed years)

Let’s get the heated debates going on I’ve got a 2003 and never had an issue. ;)

All of mine have been 2006 models and I haven't had any major issues.

But then they highlight sticky steering and roof motor problems. I've only had Coupes and my MC has Hydraulic PAS so no worries there!

If they are right E89s look like a safe bet, but we all know about Salmon Relays, roof corrosion, electric handbrake, HPFP, injector and adaptive suspension issues.

So according to that bollox, all E85s and E86s, apart from a few 2004s. I wonder why that was such a glorious year?

Whenever I come across stuff like this that's obviously rubbish and I know it's rubbish because I happen to know something about the topic, it reminds me to be vigilant to all the other stuff out there on topics I actually don't know about.

I think people are misreading this. It’s not saying that a 2004 is unreliable. It’s saying it’s marginally less reliable on a very reliable car.
Now I’m not even saying that it’s accurate and I only posted it because of the debate aspect.

I always find reliability stats interesting. Range rovers have terrible stats, but while I have loads of friends who had so many issues with them, I have a couple of swear by them. No matter what you tell them, they keep saying they haven’t had any issues and love them.

What a load of bullocks. My 2007 2.5si will be hitting the 100k miles next month and it's been a great car in the six and a half years I've had it. It had 32k miles on the clock when I bought it.

2003 had a number of design faults fixed in 2004. The petrol flap falling off was one of them and there was a whole load of fixes that came in 2004.

Since this seems to be auto generated, I assume it has to do with number of Z4s produced per model year. Higher number of cars per MY gives higher number of faults for those years.

So my only complaint with my 04 3.0i manual is at high speeds like 70+mph the car seems a bit unstable like I would say easy to sway side to side I guess, anyone have any suggestions for upgrades to stabilize the car more during highway drives?

My first thought would be tyre pressures are incorrect - but as others have said on here, could be worn suspension and/or shocks that can also cause a 'floaty" feel

Tire pressure is good, suspension definitely needs an upgrade. Was looking at the bilstein B16 full suspension costs like $1,635

Very likely worn rear trailing-arm bushes and possibly front arms as well. Try those first (in that order) before spending on expensive upgrades which won't fix the problem.

Have you still got the runflat tyres fitted? If not, do you run the replacement tyres at the same pressures?
