What an awful sight! :cry:

On the plus side, buried a little further back in the scrappy was an E39 Touring, I'd gone in looking for four cheap rims to fit winter tyres to and lo and behold, the old bus had four alloys that came with fairly fresh winter tyres! What were the chances? Especially as I don't think the scrappy realised they were actually winters...

£170 later and they're home, so cheap I don't need to sell my Z4 winter wheels anymore!

Forgot to mention actually, if anyone wants a nice Z4 roof, that one has a little moss but is otherwise immaculate, should come up well with a scrub!
 
If those winter wheels are for the Z4, then I believe the e39 had a larger hub bore than most other models (74mm vs 72.5mm).

This can however be sorted with some hubcentric rings (£10-£40 depending on whether you buy plastic or metal), otherwise you end up with a bad vibration through.

Nice find to get the rims, but be wary of the type of accident or damage that caused it to be in the breakers.

Tyres can be fatally damaged inside from an impact, invisible externally and collapse later under load at speed or cornering. At the very least do an inch by inh external check of the rims and walls unless a non impact caused the car to be scrapped.
 
The wheels are for my E39, the Z4 alloys are at the back of the picture up against the wall, I bought them from a forum member last year.

I'm just pleased that both cars will be mobile this year!

As for the yard, it was Normal Marshall Ltd in Newcastle and fortunately the E39 that I took them off appeared to be in there due to a blown rear suspension bag rather than anything accident wise, certainly all four corners were straight. :)

maybe Im blind, but what been done to the rear lights :?

spoiler and exhaust are hideous, but the lights look standard to me :idunno:

They are standrad, just not on the M which this one is pretending to be...

It is funny to see combining prefacelift tail lights and facelift bumper - there is small gap between bumper and lights...
 
not to mention the godawful horse sticker on the front and the fact that there are literally 2 different kinds of taillights (check out the reverse light on the left and right sides) :roll:
