Satnav freezes and keeps restarting

Hi Guys

Had my firmware upgraded the other week by a guy in the industry.

He updated to modded V32 and while all was fine, today it restarted a couple of times while driving.
Intravee connected and ipod was playing music, and I could change tracks and source while it went blank.

Then while trying to input a postcode it froze.

I turned enginer off then on, and it opened on the same screen.

Carried on about my day, left car, came back and fine, but then froze again after a few random restarts and got stuck on the radio screen.

Spoke to the guy who said he'd never heard of that before on the one he used on my car, so is sending me official V32 and modded so I can downgrade and see how I go.

Anyway, has anyone had this issue? It might even be the intravee but im updating to latest firmware tonight as I did the V697 firmware after the Nav and the fault has only happened after that.

Also, the Nav displays LONDON as Londres, again I only noticed that today.

Anyone had this issue?

looks like modded firmware strikes again because when I select phone and im not connected it asks me to Connect the phone but in FRENCH!!!!

Dammit

I'm thinking it's an Intravee bug.

Think we did the Intravee last week at about the same time.
I've had the nav reboot once which it has never done.
A few times when playing Ipod on Intravee it has displayed the Nav Map.
Also between tracks there's bout a half to one second delay with no text on screen before displaying the mp3 tag.

I'm gonna try the later Intravee firmware over the weekend otherwise I'm gonna put an older firmware back on.

I have had this problem on and off since i upgraded my sat nav firmware early last year

I only recently added an intravee, so for my setup this isn the cause, more so the dodgy (postcode) firmware upgrade

My satnav is incapable of staying on a road. Gets lost and does abit of offroading :s
I won't be relying on it anytime soon

I updated the Intravee last night, and all fine, no real change from the previous 6907 firmware but good nonetheless.

Pretty sure its the Nav firmware as my Phone info is in french so like I said, pending receipt of OWM V32 and update I will let you know.

Out of interest, do I remove the maps DVD and replace with firmware? or does the firmware slot in the front

your issue is something else entirely, mine just wants to become french, yours seems like it is french.. i.e difficult and does what it wants regardless of what it should do.

The guy who is sorting mine could certainly help and if you want his number drop me a PM

Sounds like you've got a hacked version there, rather than the official v32. For example v32.2 introduces speed cameras as an option in the firmware, but to do so, when speed cameras are switched on, it changes some of the menu language (like pairing phones) into French.

Tapatalking...

I'm running v32.2 firmware with speed cams, night mode etc and mine isn't in French. English, works just fine and have not had any issues

Try pairing a phone from scratch .... It doesn't affect the standard menus normally.

Personal preference of course, but why bother with speed cameras unless you're prepared to change your disc regularly to keep up to date.

The only thing I'd be tempted by is the night colour scheme for maps, but not at the expense of a bi-lingual nav computer

The freezing can (and generally is) caused by the dvd drive overheating trying to read a poorly copied maps disc.
Try getting a different "copy" and see if it sorts it out.
