Sat Nav Woman Shouting at Me!

I could put this down to it being a woman LOL......however I think the problem isn't just that :(

Picked the car up Friday and tried out the sat nav yesterday using the original software and again today after I've updated the firmware and put the 2012 disc in with no change.

Sat Nav Sally is on at full volume and changing the setting in the menu makes no difference - it says quieter/louder etc when I move it up/down the scale but this makes no difference when using the system.

Any ideas as that volume of voice renders the sat nav unusable :( ?

I've got the opposite problem..... mine has gone completely mute! Now, I know that sounds ideal, but I'd rather pay attention to the road than my sat nav screen....

If she's at full volume you'll get deafened. Take the volume down to about half. I have a feeling the volume is a differential from the radio but not 100%. It sometimes seems to take a few seconds to take effect too. Mines been a bit random like this though.

snap - i think it may have been the last firmware i applied

My volume is at minimum but she's still shouting at full volume - changing the setting makes no difference sadly :(

There is another setting that relates to Nav volume, when you press the info button from memory.

My non BMW sat nav (usually located in the passenger seat) occassionally shouts directions at me. Sadly, and not completely dissimilar with most sat navs, she normally sends me in the wrong direction :headbang:

Thanks - have turned down to min on nav menu and -9 on info menu and it's now only just bearable!

But at least I can use it :)

Any other suggestions to get her to nag me in a slightly lower volume voice welcomed :P

That's called a Sat Nag! You can often reboot them with access to your wallet...

Turn the volume knob with the radio off, that will reduce the volume as well.

On one occasion my sat nag informed me I was definitely going the wrong way.... This was without the aid of a map, and in a country that neither of us had visited before.. :?
