Sat Nav with bluetooth prep

Just bought a z4 3.0si with prof sat nav and bt prep. The Nav screen seems to switch itself off and 'reboot' sometimes whilst driving. Also it keeps losing the pairing for my phone. Any common faults? I know the car is new to me, but i have followed the instructions for pairing and it works, but then disappears.

TIA

Welcome audiman - make sure you introduce yourself and get some pictures of the Zed posted.

Are separate issues you have. Are you running an illegal/copy Sat nav disk? That accunts fo most of that issue.

Have you set the pairing on your phone to a trusted or always pair, else you'll have to manually connect it each time?

Always pair is set - and not checked DVD - i have the original box and it looks genuine, but not checked the disc

If the disc is OK and you just purchased it then back to the dealer.

If private buyer - then some more investigating to do.

Re pairing - sometimes if a phone has too many SMS messages on it, pairing will fail. Can you remove those?

Ok, well i just checked the DVD and its a bent copy. Will ditch that. Think i have a 2006 dvd that will prove if its that at least. Will buy a new DVD once i know its all working. Car has a warranty on it, but its the usual insurance rubbish things.

Well that's one item fixed. I would certainly go to the dealer and get a new disk. He should not sell with an illegal disk in it. Even if he just gives you an old 2006 oem that's better.

I'd also expect immediate problems like the phone to be rectified by a dealer.

Okay, well bluetooth system seems to work, but not with my Nokia X6. Connects, then says please wait and then disconnects. However my sons iPhone works fine with no problems. Maybe BMW doesnt like nokias?

On the Nokia I had, it would not keep its connection if there was too much data on it.

audiman, which model Nokia do you have? My C7 works fine and so did the other two Nokias (N73 and N81) I had before.
