Sat nav - which system do I have?

Hi guys,

How do you tell which system you have? i.e 'business', 'professional', etc.? I'm looking to see which Dension Gateway deice will be compatible with it. My unit has a flip up sat nav screen, but doesn't have any model number or name on the outside anywhere. It has a DVD drive between the seats for maps, along with a cd changer. Its a 2005 Z4. Here's a pic:

And my 2007 disk for this is for sale in case you still have the 2005 one :)
 
BMW do various sat nav systems across their range of cars, your z4 has the mk 4 type which is professional but the discs are dvd5, so if you want to upgrade the disc look for:
2012 BMW Road Map Europe DVD (HIGH)

+1. You need the High disk. The pro was encoded in a different way and won't work

Yep. To update the maps you simply get a new disc. To update the firmware you either get a disc from a dealer or download an image, burn it to a CD and update via the nav computer by putting the disc in it. There are a few more details to do it but that's the gist of it.
 
Thanks Stuart.. I have just seen that you explained the same thing on another topic.. I will check my firmware 2mrw.. Hopefully it's v32
