Sat Nav Volume

Wasn't sure where to post this as it's a solution for a problem. If this is something that has stumped other people then maybe worth moving to general chat so more people see it.

Basically I could never hear the sat nav voice when I had music playing. Like the sat nav was just not loud enough and constantly getting drowned out by Rammstein.
I checked every single menu and no mention of a sat nav volume so started all sorts of tricks to see if I could get the directions lady so speak louder.

It turns out that to control the voice volume of the sat nav you have to press the volume buttons as the directions are being spoken. This raises the volume of the voice but leaves the music at it's normal volume!

Maybe it's just me that was completely perplexed by the lack of "Sat Nav Audio Volume" slider in the options menu

Correct, single volume control for numerous levels. It's in the manual.

So basically you have to do something that really annoys the satnav long enough for you to change the volume, like miss a turning!

Ah...I wonder if this is the problem with ours in ///M.

The music goes quiet as if she's giving a direction but you never hear her speak...

Will try this tonight and I hope it solves the problem.

In the e85 the volume of the Nav is configurable in the menus. Can't remember where though as I have it permanently muted by my Intravee.

Ah....only just saw this was on the E89 page...

Damn 'New Posts' list! Will have a look in the book and see if it explains where I can change the volume... All avenues so far have been a dead end...

That's why I like the new posts page - means I can be indiscriminate in my idle musings and trample roughshod over people's predjudices :lol:

Wyldie - pretty sure it's in the 'settings' menu behind the front menu page. Perhaps on the second settings page though when you scroll down. If I gt a chance I will check for you.

I did a quick look online earlier and found a PDF for the nav.

There's some strange setting in the menu about --+ and --- settings.

Will have a look when I get home and see what its about. I doubt it will be that straightforward though.

Think you can also change the volume vis navcoder
