Sat Nav upgrade

Hello i have stolen this link from a fellow forumer or should i say the new mod king :D mac27040 . he has upgraded his sat nav using these people has anyone else used them and can you see any posible problems with it http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Thanks again in advance Steve
 
I believe they sell pirated versions of the map discs.

The V32 firmware update can be done yourself by following the info on forums such as xoutpost.
The new map disc is a different matter, these are available from BMW or can be 'obtained' via the internet.

Not that much that I can tell, the cosmetic changes were the BMW splash screen on startup and the 3D Perspective view, though this came with earlier firmware versions post 2006. I think much of the update is little improvements behind the scenes.

All of what they provide is easy enough to do yourself. Of course updating your own maps as per them is illegal as I can only assume they won't be providing you with an official BMW disc?

I'm not condoning it but even they can be find somewhere on the interwebs. :wink:
 
Aye it is the one on the right that wil be the copy if any as the firmware upgrade is fairly easy to find and isn't classed as an illegal counterfeit? (not sure but I just dl'd it and mounted it thinking it was legal). Hard to tell if the other is a copy from a photo but if it doesn't look right or is simply a bit of paper that has the picture printed on it then you can be sure it is a copy. The real discs also come with a slim black DVD disc case with the same image on it.

It isn't as if I have never downloaded domething I shouldn't have so I am honestly not here to preach. :D My feelings on it are my own so would rather keep out of the whole piracy argument.

I know I said i didn't want to get involved in this side of things but I agree with you. Isn't it in the region of £75? You can buy a nice Satnav for that so an annual upgrade for that sort of price is a little over the top in my opinion.
