Sat Nav Update/Upgrade

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the topic using search.

Just got a 2008 3.0si Sport with Sat Nav and the database is 2 years old.

Genuine BMW update/upgrades seem to be over £100, but clones are available for about £40.

I know you get what you pay for & yes, I am a cheapskate, but has anyone any experience with either solution?

There is only one legal one, and that is the £99 dealer upgrade.
