Do you know if this screen has all the other required parts inside the plastic housing like the circuit boards? Or will these not be needed. The stepper motor looks like its included and that's defo needed?

No idea what's included with this listing, but I can confirm if you go down the path I did that you don't need the circuit boards or LCD. You need the housing, motor, screws and the green plastic brackets.

Also - for info, the X3 screen is different to the Z4 screen. Aesthetically they are similar, and I have read that an X3 screen will fit a Z4... just thought I would mention it, although I am not entirely sure what the differences are.

I've just picked up a X3 screen and just need to get the android phone now. What are the dimensions of the screen of the ascend mate, length and width? If I was to use a white ascend mate would the white show, or does the screen completely fill the opening in the housing? Ive just measured the opening and it's roughly 145mm by 80mm.

I don't know the exact dimensions off the top of my head, and I wont be near the car until the weekend.

From memory the screen is very slightly (mm's) smaller than the aperture in the Z4 housing.... so I would avoid white as it will stick out rather prominently.

I did a bit of digging and there is another member who has fitted an X3 aftermarket screen to his Z4 with no cosmetic issues as far as I can see. It looks flush all the way around and neat. I don't suppose the aftermarket screen differs in fitment than the OEM screen does it?

I would think the aftermarket screen is identical to the X3 one as on the X3 it fits into an existing moulding.

The X3 housing will come done and meet the dash trim differently to the Z4 one. There is a picture somewhere, I will see if I can find it.

Ok thanks, hope I've not made a boo boo. I can see that there is a lip on the front of the X3 screen that slips into something but I reckon I could trim this such that it sits flush on the dash.
