Sat Nav Screen "splodge"

hi all, I've (hopefully) attached a photo of my sat nav screen that has developed a pretty big blue splodge. anyone know of a simple fix for this or do I need a new screen?

I'm no expert but I'd say that has had it. New one needed probably.
 
Never seen anything like that on an LCD screen before.. but I'd suggest that's going to be a new screen, perhaps the crystal layer has broken and the liquid is leaking...
 
yep, agree. looks like an impact (did you have a coin there when the screen was depressed?) or pressure break on the crystal layer. If it is, its knackered and you'll need a new one.

Sorry to be a little vulture-like, but if you do end up replacing it, I would be happy to buy the broken one from you, which should help ease the blow of buying a replacement.

There was a working screen for sale on here for £150 a few days ago, not sure if it is still available - I am after a broken one for a project.

hi dan, apologies for the delay - i was way too slow and missed out on the replacement but will let you have the old one when i replace it

I'm also interested in buying a broken screen, so if anyone has one available ... in black ... I'm buying $$$ :)
