Sat Nav Screen Faulty?

[Z4 Coupe]

My Sat Nav screen popped up yesterday with a blank screen, the radio and all the audio functions worked just no display. When I took the keys out the ignition the screen stayed up and didn’t pop back in.

The buttons to the left and right of the screen don’t do anything and the screen refuses to move or display anything.

It looks to me like I need a new one but looking on eBay the only one available is £300!!!

What else can I try?

Normally it's just the motor that goes

Maybe a loose connection, so worth removing and reseating the connections before you splash the cash

So when the motor goes it just stops moving and still displays what it's meant to?

Fingers crossed it just needs re-seating then.

Also disconnecting the battery for a few hours helps with these niggles.

I presume you are out of any warranty?

Warranty ran in in May

I'll definitely try disconnecting the battery as it's pretty easy to do and I've got nothing to lose!

I can do that tomorrow at work as well.

Disconnected the battery today while I washed the car. I didn't know long so I left it 15 mins or so.

It worked! Sat Nav is now flipping up as it should.
