Sat Nav question

On my sat nav screen I have two small blue box's in the right hand corner's, that I think give me details of distance etc. I have had the car for a year now and have never been able to read those box's - even with my glasses on!
Is there a way of brightening them up. I have adjusted the brightness of the screen but still unable to read them.
BMW updated the mapping last September but made little difference to the screen.
 
I have no idea either - blue boxes? on the sat nav screen itself?

Not there on mine (or any other I have seen).

Post a pic please.

I think the OP suffers from chromal misidentification anomalies…? :tumbleweed: :rofl:

I think he’s referring to the square boxes of which you only have one active showing aux..with a route enabled you’d have a lower box showing ETA and distance to go… :thumbsup:
 
Thank you AnubisZed for putting that picture up, I was just about too myself, so you saved me a job.
I have a cover on my car and just sat in the car to take a photo of the screen and, guess what, with the top up I was able to read those two box's! As I normally always drive with the roof down it must be the exposure to daylight that gives me the problem. Although unhappy I now know the reason. Looks like a bad design fault to me, but hey ho I guess I can live with it, unless someone knows how to overcome this problem.
 
Mat Smith - how did you know my other car was a Honda Jazz - wrong. No problems with my eyesight mate as was confirmed by my eye test a month ago. Check out the picture kindly posted by AnubisZed.
 
Ok. My Mum taught me not to argue with tetchy old blokes on the internet, but here goes.

Only blue boxes I see on that screen pic (or my screen in the car) are for motorways.

I must need my own eyes testing, unless perhaps you are referring to the grey boxes?
 
That's enough of the old bloke's Mat, but you are right the boxes are more grey than blue - good spot. In my defence, the car has been under a cover for the last few months and I took it out for a spin a couple of days ago and did not use the sat nav so was going by memory - and no comments about old blokes and memory, please. Funny! I thought it was a mandatory requirements to be an old bloke, own a Z4 and join this forum, are we saying there are some youngsters here too? :rofl:
