my mates (john5761) bought himself a roadster last weekend, today we notice the sat nav does not give any verbal commands. not sure whether is did when we bought, I've checked all the obvious (to me) setting and all looks ok

any ideas?

I take it you have checked the volume is on and set for the nav ?

If you have the car diving and radio/cd on,does the car mute to let the nav give the command,or no break in sound...

Odd question, but what colour is the car. Years back i retrofited navigation to my 3.0si roadster. I deliberately did not connect the voice pin.

you never know. Mine was silver grey, red leather and piano back int.

Doesnt the IPOD or AUX jack just fit in place of the cd controller wires on head unit ?

yes very possible cos when we bought it we was told that, the multichanger does not work, does that effect the nav?

It shouldnt....

But its dead easy to pull the radio and reinstate the CD changer.... But they usually undo the wires on the back of the changer too,you can access from the boot area..

That said,my Si coupe had an IPOD controller wired in,and the Nav wasnt affected....But that was an OEM install..

sorted

removed the iPod adapter and everything is now back to standard, Sat nav talks and cd changer works :)

How did you go about that? Id like to keep my aux but get the sat nav talking again. Ive got a cd changer thats never going to be used.

You need to merge the pins into one plug. It's as simple as that.
