Sat nav not showing correct location, help needed

Hello all,
I have a 2006 Z4 Roadster and since i've had the car the Sat nav has been showing the wrong location for the car. The location on the sat nav moves with the car but it's 70 miles from where the car is.

I would like to fix this issue and upgrade to the latest software. Can anybody give me some pointers and what I need to check to start narrowing down the problem and what edition software I have?

Hasn't worked since I got the car last July. Don't look at it much but never seen it show the correct location, so i'm assuming it's permanent weather than intermittent.

You could try reboot all the systems, by disconnect the battery for at least half an hour but you'll have to reset clock an reset the windows, guide for the window reset can be found on here,
Or it will be the GPS antenna another common failure, but the part is cheap enough on ebay,

I've had the battery disconnected a couple of times and that hasn't sorted the problem.
Can anybody point me to a guide on how to find out if it's picking up any satellites and which software version i've got?

Had a look yesterday at the Sat nav and it was showing the correct location?!?!?! Not sure how long it has been it has been working correctly as I don't keep it on the map screen, I will have to keep an eye on it.

My software version is SW 4-1/00 am I right in thinking that this is the latest version ?
