Hi..... does anyone know if the sat nav units can be repaired?? Screen works but it won't lift up without assistance. Guessing it's a cog wheel or something.

Going to strip out this weekend but Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Gary

I think it gets out of sequence, mine had a period of not wanting to go down, are you saying it has a mind of its own or it won't move when you work the buttons regardless. If it is without power try the fuses.

Basically i have a floppy screen with no power lift! When i turn it on i can hear something (maybe motor whirring away) but screen doesn't lift up. I can manually lift the screen but it wont stay up, especially if i drive and hit a bump. The graphics are fine and still shows all the info, DSP, sat nav etc. i will strip down this weekend and see if it's the motor needs greasing or something? unless you have another idea.

I think I recall from past posts that the plastic gears bust - the teeth ping off them.
I'm sure several have pulled apart to repair them but don't recall anyone actually making a successful repair without cannibalising parts from another unit.

Have you ever come across any spares for these?? or know of a repair guy?
