Sat Nav for Android?

I have an old Garmin sat nav but its a little out of date now, so without buying a new one with lifetime updates, what's the best FREE or cheapish (don't use one that much) sat nav for Android?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini and tried the Google one but that took some getting going and took 20% of my battery to go 4 miles although I could possibly connect to my Parrot and have it charging as I go.
So any recommendations for Android Sat Nav?
 
Waze or Google Maps. Both good but need internet access. I prefer Waze, got a very nice fluid interface. Really is pretty good.

If you want an offline one (ie it does not need internet to operate), TomTom is available, it's about £30 I think though extras cost eg Speed Cameras
 
Google maps as a sat nav have never let me down just make sure you have, your location service on.
And play around with the settings, for you own preferences.
 
+1 for Waze...

Alternativelty Garmin do Navigon for Android as another offline option to TomTom (personally prefer TomTom).
 
Yes I tried both. TomTom is the better one. If you're only doing short journeys you can download the Google map to the device but it's limited to about 50 sq miles. So a city is fine.
 
Not heard of that one one, just checked it out. Now called Navmii. Looks good, I might give that a try

I'll give a couple a try out.

Another question I forgot to ask is, do the online ones use a lot of mobile data? because that's what I don't have much of (300MB) as never really needed much before.
 
TomTom cost about £15 per year now, cheaper if you go for three years. Comes with speed cameras and traffic.

All maps downloaded and when you go on holiday you can download any maps available FOC.

My three years cost my 50p though as they upgraded me being a existing user :D
