Just to let you know I bought the latest profressional/high DVD from BMW Satnav and very impressed. Highlights all of the speed camera locations, including those where mobile camera vans lurk in a bid to increase council revenues.

Would recommend!

how do these dvd run sat navs that come with cars work?

Do they have to read from the disc every time they plan a route or something or does it just use it to load the contents into some flash memory?

My 2011, plus new firmware dvd arrived yesterday - well worth the £30

Does it allow 6 digit post codes?

My version allows full postcodes. It's a bit hacky as it basically has the postcodes as POIs but works perfectly.

Just be careful - the forum cannot entertain any discussions related to or condone any pirate BMW software.

I have one on order from BMWNAV but seems to be taking unsually long time to get here. About 3 weeks now.

hacked??? OMG no way would I even contemplate the idea!!

BMW Sat Nav [sellers name removed from post] ! ordered Sunday, arrived tuesday, firmware took 2-mins to install and disc worked straight away. 3D perspective is a bit rubbish, but the speed cameras and 7 (yes 7!) figure postcodes are worthwhile. I had hoped the graphics would have been closer to my old e61 idrive system (oh how I miss the idrive!), but hey ho.

Afraid that is a hacked copy, as the OEM versions can not do speed cameras or 7 digit postcodes.

Dude, yours is hacked. Those features you mentioned are not available on the OEM firmware or maps disc. :poke:

Presume a new disk is plug and play. If your bought a copy and it turned out no good, could you just use the oem disk again.

There have been cases of "bricked" navigation units.

So ... do you feel lucky? :D

OMG I feel so violated

I would have been gutted to have paid 200 notes and not got the speed cameras!!

I understand, [editted to remove reference to illegal copy vendor] offers an money back guarantee!
