My M had the nav retrofitted, i dont have any documentation for how it works, do you know where i can get some, (PDF or physical book?) would prefer the latter for completeness, but a PDF will do as havent a clue how to use it really other than what i've worked out... :)

Call a breakers yard with one, they usually have the books for the cars :-)

I have a 2004 owners manual for the nav in pdf - not z4 specific but most of its the same.. pm me your email address if you want me to send it over..

yeah, ive managed to set a destination address and get guidance, just interested to find out about any features i havent discovered... :)

The important one is that once you have searched for a POI, that you have to go back into POI again to get rid of all those sodding icons on the screen once you don't want them anymore :D

The one thing that didn't work with the retrofit, although I didn't know this until I got my ///M which had it from factory is that on the odometer there is a countdown to the next turn from about 400 yards.

Wondered what the hell was going on until I realised what it was.

I guess so but nobody I know who retrofitted had any coding done so wouldn't have been any the wiser.

I really wouldn't worry about it as most of the time you wouldn't even notice as you busy looking at the road, not the dials.

one other nav question i have for all you others that have factory nav....

when you put your headlights on, does the screen dim/go to a night mode like most cars do? mine doesnt and I'm wondering if this is because my car doesnt think it has nav fitted (as was a retro fit).

I have taken to closing the screen at night as its way too bright

Z4 nav rocks! Simple but 99.9% effective

Agree, specially whit 2012 maps and custom firmware with post code support
