has anyone here ever done a retro fit of this, or no a man who can and how much he charges? (sat nav, not blue tooth)
There is many a man on this forum who can do this however I am not sure whether there is anyone that would want to do it to someone else car.
It really is alot easier than you would imagine, its just a case of unscrewing trim, removing, feeding wiring then replacing trim. All the wiring connections are plug and play, no cutting or joining required.

although the wiring is all plug and play, there is a big hole to be cut in the top of the dashboard for the monitor.
I have all the bits, and plan to fit when I'm on holiday in a couple of weeks, I have tested all out by connecting to the car which took 30 mins or so, but members have quoted 5 hours to cut the monitor hole and a couple of hours for the wiring and dvd fitting etc.
srhutch I assumed that the above was obvious due to the location of the item, however thank you for pointing that out. I was merely trying to reassure that the wiring is really very easy.
Maybe sounds strange but I would personally think that the idea of lots of complex wiring would be more daunting than fitting the screen in the dash.

I'd have taken it all, but I cant risk it when everything is seperate in case I miss out on one or the other

I spoke to BMW when I bought the wiring loom and the guy said that a new dash top was only something like £50, so if you did make a mistake which I think is very unlikely given how careful everyone would be due to nervousness, it sounds like you could replace it fairly cheaply.
