Hi all,
Having my wheels refurbished and i am now thinking of getting new tyres put on, seeing as they have to take the run flats that are on, off.
My question is, the fronts are 225x40x18 and the rears are 255x35x18 do i have to keep same size or can i put front size on rears too, ? if not, why.. Thanks :?

Technically you could fit the same tyres to all 4 but that wouldn't be the right way to go
The wheels are different widths so the different profiles work so that rolling radius stays the same on all 4 wheels
That said if it was my car on stock suspension i would upsize the tyre profiles so 225 45 18 front 255 40 18 rear
I did this on my last Z (E85) & it increased comfort & the car drove really well . The tyre sizes are standard fayre for M models so there must be some reasoning to it :driving:

Yep , offsets on the 18s shown were more aggressive than the norm but not crazily , 42 fronts 34 rears i think

How does that affect the speedo ?

With TomTom it made it more accurate :? when speedo read 31mph actual speed was 30mph ?

So more accurate speedo and more comfort ? I can't wait to get rid of my runflats.
