Same holiday – different Zed (Epilogue)

Mmmm, very close to me. Must have come pretty near when passing through Thirsk. Regular visitor to most places on your list, glad you enjoyed North Yorkshire, God's Own Country!

Enjoyed that - feel like I've been away myself

Betty's tea room - it's something that has to be done! The old Spa at Harrogate has a lovely impressive Chinese restaurant in it's wonderful Victorian rooms (amazing loos!) - recommended.

Did you get to Oliver's Mount? You can drive around the track where motorcycles do amazing speeds between the trees kerbs and hills. The road up to and behind the Castle is worth a drive as well - tight but an old part of Scarborough. North Bay is worth a drive along and visit Peasholme Park or the Outdoor theatre.

Love the photo at night along the hedges

I think I will need to pic your brains next year regarding Oliver's Mount etc. Thanks for your responses Paul

Can't argue with that

. . . Chester is another one to avoid which is a shame

Cakes look good though :)

We park at the race course - £4.50 for the day. Providing it's not a race day its usually an easy in and out

That alone is a calendar shot. Just beautiful

You used a SPONGE?
Not a £50.00 microfibre lambs wool quick drying wash mitt?
Disgusting behaviour! Your Zed should be impounded for vehicle cruelty!

Great write up though and nice photos. Love seeing these types of trips where the Zed and the driving is part of the involvement and fun!

Brilliant thread thanks and some cracking photos too

We went to Whitby when the kids were off a couple of weeks ago and I had to laugh as it took us 3 hours to get there and we couldn't get parked so popped over to Robin Hoods Bay instead, had some chips and a drink and were there about 40 minutes and then drove 3 hours back!!

I said to my mrs that when I used to go to Robin Hoods Bay around 20 years ago that it wasn't worth the petrol money and I said not much has changed! but at least back then I was on holiday in Scarborough so popping over to Whitby/RHB wasn't as much as an issue...travelling 6 hours for 40mins didn't make much sense to me. :headbang:

The mrs seemed happy about going though and it was her idea...so all wasn't lost. :)
