Yes, indeed. AUDI uses the same relay design, but added an additional check for the relay's behaviour. Thats is more secure.

Interestingly BMW uses the same odd electrical design since the 90's! I found it on any convertible of the last 20 years equipped with hydraulic pumps.

Unfortunately, they charge a complete hydraulic pump plus mounting. That is a business model, why to change?
