Salmon Relays

Hi

Salmon Relays have arrived today so will be doing this swap out soon as the weather gives me a small window to do these.

Is it best to remove the earthing strap on the battery before carrying out this quick job?

I don’t remember touching the battery (or its earthing strap.) It’s a tight place. IIRC, you have to remove or loosen other parts to get to the relays, especially to reconnect the new ones. Pay close attention to the orientation of the male plugs as you remove the old relays. That will help you inserting the new ones.

There’s a bloke here in America with a YouTube channel and loads of videos for these small jobs.

That looks like a nice easy job to get me started on my Z4 journey

Just had a break from the rain so popped out and changed the relays tested the roof and all works fine, took a photo of the old ones how do you detemine the date of these relays?

I believe the 12A print may be the batch number. My January 2011 car had 33A in it, although they might have been replaced by one of the previous owners. The replacements I bought are something like 76A (can't remember exactly and didn't take photos).

There is a year and week number. So yours is week 47 of 2014
