Salary sacrifice car scheme

Waiting for company salary sacrifice car scheme to be launched but cannot get any idea of figures.

It will be a maintained scheme so only fuel to pay for, am in upper tax bracket bordering on losing my personal allowance which is obviously a consideration.

Anyone help with examples of what you are paying for what car. Scheme is being run by Zenith and they only have a mini 1 D example for a 20% tax payer.

Looking at a scirocco 140 bhp diesel with otr price around 24k.

Thanks in advance if you can help, just can't work out if it's going to be worthwhile.

We have a similar scheme at my company. The scheme only runs with Vauxhall's though which I have no interest in. On our one there's limits on what you can buy (no VXR's for example) and it doesn't sound haggleable, so I had wondered whether you'd be do better in dealer discounts or haggling on the forecourt.
As far as I was aware, nobody had used the scheme in our office, but I could be wrong.

Salary sacrifice schemes are a bit of a minefield. You need to remember that the employer benefits financially from them (NICs for example) but doesn't always hand over any of that benefit to the employee.

My last job had a full blown flexible benefits scheme where even stuff like medical cover and death in service benefit could be opted in and out of. I ran a few calculations and was never convinced it was as beneficial as the company harped on it was.....
