Saddest film you've ever watched

"Old Yeller " - :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

" Love Actually " scene where Emma Thompson opens her surprise present thinking it's a gold pendant :(

I find myself getting a lump in my throat watching all sorts of things nowadays. I think it must be something to do with having a wife and/or children, or just being emotionally invested in life and it's trappings - you feel loss, or heartache, or disadvantage and so on as if it were you.

Some sporting moments also do this for me. Any of the old vids of world records - with the right commentator - can get you close to tears, although tears not of sadness but of appreciation of the achievement I think. David Coleman, Steve Cram, videos of Steve Cram with David Coleman commentating etc...

Seven Pounds with Will Smith....I cried in the cinema and this woman sat next to me, reached over and held my hand!

Just remembered that the film I had to watch on my Drivers Awareness Course a couple of weeks back bored me to tears.

Truly madly deeply got me.

I hate being manipulated, I think it undermines genuine feelings. I try not to watch emotional stuff. Being rufty tufty is not important.

I was in tears in front of our local wells dressing this year. The music by our local brass band, (something moving, Messian I think) the graveyard, the surnames in the graveyard, the surnames on the memorial, the surnames of many of the band members. I know lots of the band members. They all matched. I had just consumed a Hancock pork pie, all so connected, too much mortality in one moment.

Beaches - watched it when I was a kid.
I stay away from watching sad films. There's enough in real life that makes me sad. Don't want to spend my leisure time feeling low if I can avoid it.

Titanic, Steel Magnolias, Marley & Me, Green Mile.

I agree with a Ruby, I don't watch sad films any more. Husband keeps on at me to watch War Horse but I know I'll cry so I won't watch it.

what man cries at movies, you bunch of mardy pants

ok truth, I hate watchin mardy films cos I just can't hold back the tears
