sad news - cj_eds

Can't add much to comments - we met Carl a number of times at Forum runs and always enjoyed his company and chat. He never complained and kept fairly quiet about his illness - life can be so cruel. Thoughts to his wife Nicola and his family. I think a few of us Scots hope to attend the funeral.

It was Carls funeral earlier, a few forum members managed to attend it,

Nosa posted this on FB and asked if someone could repost it on here.

Have just got back from the church service. Jack, Adam and myself turned up. There was standing room only. Whilst the occasion was very sad and very moving Carl's father and father in law had us all laughing with stories of what Carl used to get up to. He truly was a thoroughly decent bloke and it was extremely evident that he was truly loved and is sadly missed by all that knew him. I came away with a heavy heart and a stronger and deeper appreciation for my own loved ones. RIP Carl Edmunds

As for myself I can only echo what has been said.

Thanks Richard - really appreciate you (and Nosa) for posting this.

I was so impressed by the eulogies from family & friends. Nicola, her dad and Carl's dad were frankly amazing in how composed they remained whilst clearly showing the love & respect they all had for Carl. For Nicola to greet everyone as we left showed real strength from a young woman. Think we all left feeling the love and perspective. J

RichardG, glad you went to the funeral and thanks for posting
Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to being in the USA at the moment, I was simply posting on behalf of Nosa.

A very sad day. A packed church and some moving eulogies. Such a tragic loss of a true gent.

He'll be missed.
