I was at Sytner Nottingham today having my X3 serviced so thought I’d enquire as to the cost of the above for my up and coming INS2 Service, £117 was the answer so I called Sopers and they were about £90 with 10% discount, had a look online and ECP were £87.99 with some extra ‘ rubber bits’ I’m sure they’re needed  anyhow phoned them up and they told me the kit was £59.40 all in and would be with them after 3pm today as it wasn’t in stock, anyhow just a heads up really if you need the kit

Interesting.... so far the few service parts ive replaced in my also imola red Z4MR ( :poke: ) I've bought from BMW. Namely brake pads and sensor cables - fromt amd rear. They only reason for that being that while not having to pay for labour - yours dearly has done the labour here! - i thought itd be good to be able to show BMW receipts as in whem it some to resale.

Worth keeping your info in mind! Every little helps!

Mate, I reckon a potential buyer who is concerned about your DIY servicing is not going to care where you got the parts from. Save your money and buy them elsewhere!

Harsh!! But true lolol

What's the general opinion on the oem valve cover gaskets? I've tried twice and they both leaked, swapping back to original BMW part at my next servicing.

Given the fitted 2 year warranty BMW offer on parts I can't see any reason to not go with them for the sake of a few quid. I'd place far more trust in those parts than 'oem' versions.
Last year I paid
11-12-7-832-034 - Valve Cover Gasket - £44.15GBP x1 £44.15GBP
11-12-7-830-972 - Rubber Seal 118524 - £1.84GBP x11 £20.24GBP

ETA, just got a quote now out of interest, seems it's gone up a few quid, but still, the 2 year fitted warranty is one of the great things about buying parts from bmw, if the part fails they will refit it foc within 2 years even if they didn't fit it in the first place.

The following includes vat, forum discount and FREE delivery.

034 Gasket: £48.66

972 Gasket: £2.21

Harry fairbairn, they are a sponsor on another well known BMW.. info forum..
By far the cheapest ime.

Can’t you get this included in an even better deal if you buy the inspection kit from BMW? Don’t they give you a discount for buying the whole lot?
