In one way or another, all of us will suffer considerably, if only financially, from the Coronavirus pandemic, either directly, or indirectly. In the greater scheme of things, I'd rather lose some of my savings for life to resume as we've known it rather than keep every penny and watch the economy totally collapse and all of us have to suffer even more when we come out of lockdown.
Like many people, over the past 10 years, I've seen the concept of savings and earning interest, completely destroyed, so we've already lost that potential source of future income.
I just hope that in the aftermath, there will be a fairer redistribution of wealth, where the egos of the likes of Michael O'Leary might be stroked by becoming philanthropic rather than self-aggrandising as they are at present.
