RX8

Owned a 55-plate for 3 years from new. Utter mistake. Hated the damned thing very soon after getting it. The lack of torque just leads you to need to thrash it everywhere to make decent progress and that just gets tiring, and the fuel and oil consumption was a bit hideous (even though known about prior to purchase). Sold it after exactly 3 years for 30% of what we paid for it, with 9k on the clock. For an RX-8, it was a minter, but underneath it looked like it had been driven over salt flats all its life...rank and rotten. 3 sets of rusty alloys, battery issues, self-opening spooky boot, constant recalls for manufacturng issues and I got sick of it. Never regretted dumping the piece of.... :!: Oh, and the interior was designed by a child, and we also had a lousy gearbox.

Test drove one back in 2004 before getting the Zed, the traction control cut in on the slip road onto the A14 in Bury St Edmunds, I think I was in 3rd gear at the time and despite the lack of torque changing gears all the way in to 6th the thing was slowing down with the TC light flashing. Not what you want with 40 odd tons of Artic bearing down you. Back to the dealership told them what happened, their reply 'You'll need to come back it's dry, Sir'.
I bought the Zed instead and never regretted it, then started hearing the stories of fuel and consumption high enough that the only people smiling were the Oil Company execs.
