Rusty wheel nuts

Hey all,

Now I know this has been asked before as I've done a search but was hoping for an up to date response. The wheel nuts for all 4 of my 19" CSL wheels are looking a little tired and quite rusty. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some replacements or offer some advice on how to recondition them?

All of the nuts including the 4 locking ones are in the same condition, I feel it let's the car down a bit and hopefully should be fairly inexpensive? Nothing needs doing to the car at the mo and don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on aero skirts right now so this will calm the Z4itis if only for a short while...

The wheels are standard colour so I think it'll be best to stay silver, although I have seen posts saying to paint/dip them in black stuff? Surely this will make them stand out too much and they'll get chipped etc when being taken on/off? I'm really not fussed for caps/covers, just want some nice looking nuts for a good price.

What do you think? Thanks :)

I changed mine as per the pic below. Dave the Wheel Nut off here was kind enough to direct me to a decent set and also the locking wheel nuts...

Why don't you just paint them?

I cleaned mine up with a wore brush and sprayed them with hammerrite black

They look good as new

+1. Worked fine for me. I just really thinned some smooth silver hammerite.

Me too, wire brushed them and sprayed them.Took seconds.I used some black spray paint called Hard Hat. Still looks great some months later.

Ok cool thanks everyone, maybe I'll give that a go this weekend and depending on results that'll be that or if no good I can buy those ones from eBay for £26 :)
