Wheel nuts that is!! Mine are looking tatty and I would like to replace with new, shiney, ones, ideally stainless steel.

Any suggestions as to a supplier please and can anyone confirm the spec ie diam/pitch and taper (I'm told M12/1.5/60 degrees)

Cheers

Smooth black hammerite!

We had the same problem when we purchased our car back in October so decided to take them off and paint them. To do this we cut holes in an old cardboard box to then place the wheel nuts in:-

As you can see, with the brakes painted with high temperature silver paint along with the freshly painted wheel nuts you wouldn't believe it was the same car. For a couple of hours work it is a low cost solution which makes a massive difference :). As mentioned, these were done in October and still look great with no signs of wear.

Hope this helps :D

That's exactly what I done. I painted my brakes black and done the nuts at the same time seeing as they were rusty as well.

Google suggests that BMW bolts are 17mm - can someone pls confirm this?

Until I get round to doing my brake calipers at the same time, I'll just grab some black covers, same as Darren above.

TIA,
Si

Yep 17mm is correct. I had the wheels off last week ;)

For those painting the nuts black, doesn't the paint chip off on the corners when you're doing them back up?

No, just leave them to dry for a whilst painting the brakes and maybe a little longer after that until they are dry and then just put 2/3 bolts in temporarily.

As I say, ours were done in October and show no signs of wear or chipping :)
